We haven't slept in years.: 'Anonymous' Declares War on Orlando.
Hacker group Anonymous has declared war on the City of Orlando for their refusal to allow vegan activist group Food Not Bombs to feed the hungry.
Earlier this month, four people from Food not Bombs were arrested in Orlando for feeding the homeless. The activists could face 60 days in jail and have to pay a $600 fine. The city maintains that public feedings violate a local ordinance unless the host group holds a permit and permits are limited to only two per year, per group.
Two years ago, a federal court ruled that the city’s ban on public feeding was unconstitutional. That ruling was overturned just this year and anti-hunger advocates like Food Not Bombs could now face criminal prosecution if they continue to feed the hungry. Food Not Bombs has no intention of stopping so hackers from Anonymous have come to back them up.
Anonymous plans to use a DDoS attack to bring down OrlandoFloridaGuide.com and intends to black fax government offices to cause disruptions and mass frustration. The group’s official statement reads: “The City of Orlando has ignored our warnings…This is a declaration of war.”
Orlando needs to get their act together. I’ve written about some crazy things that happen in Florida but arresting people for feeding the hungry might take cake.
this just takes the biscuit.
